Equipment/Materials

Drawing Classes - Term 2

The following list is a basic guide to the materials and equipment needed for the drawing classes. You may select lower budget items or prefer to spend a bit more and purchase higher quality items. You may already have some things on the list and so won't need to purchase them again. Don't stress if your budget is really tight - some items can be left out with minimal impact to the course itself. Feel free to email me if you need some advice  (info@robertkingdomart).

What you will need:

  1. A set of colour pencils (24 or more would be great but if you can only manage 12, that’s okay). Derwents are a good brand to start with - Woolworths, Big W and Officeworks sell tins of 24 pencils for around $20 or so (AUD). Cheaper pencils generally are too hard and don't blend as easily.

  2. A variety of grey-lead pencils (at least an HB, 2B and 6B).

  3. A black water-resistant fine-liner

  4. A good quality eraser

  5. Sharpener

  6. A packet of paper stumps for blending).

  7. An A4 or A3 sketchbook or a pad of cartridge paper
