ABOUT THE ARTWORK
(Dandenong Ranges Botanic Garden, Olinda)
2012
Pen and ink and watercolour
41 x 28.5cm
The Dandenong Ranges on the outskirts of Melbourne have a perfect blend of native-Australian and exotic trees and plants. The Dandenong Ranges Botanic Garden is no exception to this. On one walk I took there I noticed the sun catching some trees in the distance wearing their autumnal splendour. They were framed by the shadowy tree trunks nearby. I had the sense that this was a sacred moment - like I was drawing near to heaven's glory or it was drawing near to me. I captured the scene in this watercolour and pen and ink artwork - naming it 'Drawing Near'. I cannot help but think of stained-glass windows and butterfly wings when I see it.
This image will be printed on Hahnemühle Photo Rag® paper (308 gsm) to best suit the original medium.
Drawing Near
Most of my original artworks are available in archival quality print form and are printed using the giclée process by ACME et al in Steels Creek, Victoria. Each stage of the printing process is carefully overseen by James, the printer (with nearly three decades of industry experience), to ensure the highest quality product. These prints are made to last for decades with minimal fading and are printed on high-end, sturdy papers.
Because the prints are made on demand and printed individually rather being mass-produced, please allow between two to three weeks for processing and delivery of your order (or a little longer for customers outside of Australia).
Please note that framing is not included with print purchases.
