One of my favourite places on earth so far is The Alfred Nicholas Memorial Gardens in the Dandenong Ranges on the outskirts of Melbourne. It feels like a sacred place to me whenever I visit and I feel God's presence strongly as I become immersed in the beauty of His creation. You enter the gardens through a beautiful iron and stone gateway and soon approach the massive art-deco mansion (that begs for restoration). Not far past the mansion you come to the place featured in my watercolour painting where a magnificent shady tree rises up from a stone wall. The path eventually leads down to a serene lake with large fish, bridges and a waterfall. My artwork was created during a time of personal challenge and as I was reflecting on the painting's summery air and the feeling of hopeful anticipation it gave, I decided to give it the name 'With Summer Before Me I Walk On'. I hope that this image may bring you hope as it has for me.
